This application relates to efficiently distributing heat within a portable computing device. More specifically an apparatus for conducting heat between internal components of the portable computing device is disclosed. The apparatus, referred to as a thermal gap pad, is configured to bridge a variably sized gap between internal components. This is accomplished by wrapping a resilient core in a layer of highly thermally conductive material. The resilient core allows a shape of the thermal gap pad to vary in accordance with a size of the gap. A resilience of the thermal gap pad can be adjusted to account for an amount of variance in the gap. In some embodiments, an electrically conductive layer can be added to facilitate the passage of electrical current through the thermal gap pad.
The present invention is to provide a holder having an adjustable clamping orientation, which includes a clamping assembly having a first clamping plate extended forwardly from a front end thereof and movably connected with a second clamping plate to form a clamping head for clamping a plate, a support assembly having a front end pivoted to a rear end of the clamping assembly and a side edge pivoted to a support arm extended therefrom so that a free end of the support arm is rotatable in a direction of away from or close to the clamping assembly, and a holding seat having a front end rotatably fastened with a rear end of the support assembly and a positioning member disposed at a rear end thereof, so that a mobile electronic device can be firmly positioned at the positioning member and adjusted to an expected orientation with respect to the plate.
A plasma system includes a plasma arc torch, a cylindrical tube and an eductor. The plasma arc torch includes a cylindrical vessel having a first end and a second end, a first tangential inlet/outlet connected to or proximate to the first end, a second tangential inlet/outlet connected to or proximate to the second end, an electrode housing connected to the first end such that a first electrode is aligned with a longitudinal axis of the cylindrical vessel, and extends into the cylindrical vessel, and a hollow electrode nozzle connected to the second end of the cylindrical vessel. The cylindrical tube is attached to the hollow electrode nozzle and aligned with the longitudinal axis, the cylindrical tube having a side inlet and a radio frequency coil disposed around or embedded within the cylindrical tube. The eductor is attached to the cylindrical tube and aligned with the longitudinal axis.
One aspect of the invention provides an energy dissipative tube including: a length of corrugated stainless steel tubing; a conductive resin layer adjacent to the outside of the tubing; and an insulative resin layer adjacent to the conductive layer. Another aspect of the invention provides an energy dissipative tube consisting of: a length of corrugated stainless steel tubing; a conductive thermoplastic polymer layer adjacent to the outside of the tubing, the conductive thermoplastic polymer layer having a volume resistivity of less than about 106 ohm-cm; and an insulative resin layer adjacent to the conductive layer.
The invention provides a lighting device and a luminaire . The lighting device comprises a light emitter thermally connected to a heat sink . The lighting device further comprises a communication circuit which is coupled to the heat sink for transmitting and/or receiving a communication signal. The heat sink is electrically conductive and comprising an opening having dimensions for constituting an aperture antenna for a particular frequency for directionally transmitting and/or receiving the communication signal of the particular frequency via the heat sink. In the embodiment shown, the lighting device comprises an aperture antenna and a further aperture antenna .
The present invention relates to a drive circuit of an light-emitting diode module, which includes: an LED array including a plurality of parallel groups connected in series; a power supply module for converting an external power supply into a 12V-75V forward voltage that drives each LED in the LED array; and a control module for controlling different gating switches to perform a conduction or cutoff operation according to a detected input voltage. The solution in accordance with the present invention can provide regular AC power for the LED array, without the need of providing an electrolytic capacitor. The present invention further overcomes design defects of a DC solution, optimizes the performance of a bulb, and reduces a manufacturing cost of the bulb. Compared with other lighting technologies, the AC solution reduces a total arrangement cost of the LED.
A method is provided to produce a high-frequency heat treatment coil including a heating section for heating a heat treatment portion of an outer joint member for a constant velocity universal joint. The heating section is formed by machining in an integrated manner, and is joined to another section to complete the high-frequency heat treatment coil.
A cooking appliance including a plurality of separately controlled cooking areas, a first heating element positioned below one of the plurality of separately controlled cooking areas, a second heating element positioned below the same separately controlled cooking area as the first heating element, and an infinite switch electrically coupled with the first heating element and operable to energize the first heating element to supply heat to the separately controlled cooking area when the infinite switch is located at a first position. The switch has an operational tolerance, and the first heating element is sized such that the separately controlled cooking area is maintained below a target cooking temperature when the infinite switch is located at the first position and is operating at an upper limit of the operational tolerance.
In a wireless sensor actuator network system, actuators to be actuated to correspond to a plurality of sensors are selected using an A-S matrix that represents relationship strength between a plurality of actuators and the plurality of sensors based on sensing data of the plurality of sensors, and only the selected actuators determine actuation values based on values of the A-S matrix.
An electroluminescent earphone with a bending-resistance and a high-brightness includes earphone wires having bending-resistant electroluminescent wires, earbuds, an electroluminescent wire driver and an audio inputting plug. Each bending-resistant electroluminescent wire includes: a plurality of central electrodes; a luminescent layer coated on outer surfaces of the central electrodes; a transparent conductive layer coated on an outer surface of the luminescent layer; an outer electrode made of a plurality of wires arranged on an outer surface of the transparent conductive layer; and a transparent plastic covering the outer electrode and the transparent conductive layer. The bending-resistant electroluminescent wire is parallel with an earphone audio wire or coils around an outer surface of the earphone audio wire. A colored transparent plastic covers the bending-resistant electroluminescent wire and the earphone audio wire to form the earphone wire having the bending-resistant electroluminescent wire.
According to one embodiment, an existent person count estimation apparatus includes motion sensors and following units. The collection unit generates human sensing information. The instance prediction unit predicts second instances from the first instances by using the transition matrix. The likelihood calculation unit calculates likelihoods of the second instances using the time information items. The instance selection unit selects one or more third instances having likelihoods higher than a threshold. The output unit generates output information including estimate values of existent person counts for the first areas included in the third instances.
A solar photovoltaic power generation panel mount has a solar photovoltaic power generation panel attached to a mount frame having a plurality of vertical and horizontal bars connected in a grid-like manner. Concrete foundations project upwardly from a mount installation surface at predetermined intervals in a right-left direction under front and rear sides of the mount frame, and the mount frame is supported by the concrete foundations so as to be positionally adjustable in the up-down and right-left directions by mounting brackets fastened to a top of each of the concrete foundations.
A support assembly for mounting a solar panel unit includes a base unit and a supporting unit. The base unit includes a plurality of base tubes that are spaced apart from one another and two connecting tubes that are respectively and detachably connected to opposite end portions of each of the base tubes. The supporting unit includes a plurality of limiting components and a plurality of supporting rods. Each limiting component permits at least two of the base tubes to extend therethrough so as to position the at least two of the base tubes relative to each other. Each supporting rod is detachably connected to and extends upwardly from a corresponding one of the limiting components and is adapted for supporting the solar panel unit thereon.
A modular deployable structure that includes at least two panels, one of which is configured to be pivotably attached to a further structure for deployment therefrom and return thereto. Interfaces pivotably interconnect each two panels, and are in the form of a pin clevis joint arrangement. Dogbone links are pivotably attached to the interfaces to effect pivoting of the panels. Linkage members extend adjacent to the panels and are pivotable relative to the dogbone links. The linkage members pivotably interengage one another, for example via gears. A drive mechanism effects pivoting of one of the linkage members to in turn effect synchronized pivoting of all of the linkage members and the panels.
A protective method is provided against torque peaks between a motor adapted for setting a shaft of the motor into rotation and an electric source adapted for electrically powering an electric assembly and including a fixed section and a rotating adapted for rotating with the shaft. The method includes a step for controlling the operation of the electric source forcing the rotary movement of the rotating section with the shaft to observe an instruction relating to the torque of the rotating section applied to the shaft of the motor, the instruction being adapted depending on at least one element characterizing a current operating state of the motor.
A wind power excitation synchronous generation system having a maximum power determining unit and a control method thereof are disclosed. In this control method, dual input shafts and a single output shaft of a gear transmission mechanism are used, and two kinds of inputted power, such as wind power and servo motor control power, are integrated, so as to allow the output shaft to drive an excitation synchronous generator to generate electric power. In this system, a rotation speed and a phase of a servo motor are controlled, so as to allow the excitation synchronous generator to output the electric power with a frequency and a phase identical to the utility grid.
A compressed-air energy storage system according to embodiments of the present invention comprises a reversible mechanism to compress and expand air, one or more compressed air storage tanks, a control system, one or more heat exchangers, and, in certain embodiments of the invention, a motor-generator. The reversible air compressor-expander uses mechanical power to compress air and converts the energy stored in compressed air to mechanical power . In certain embodiments, the compressor-expander comprises one or more stages, each stage consisting of pressure vessel partially filled with water or other liquid. In some embodiments, the pressure vessel communicates with one or more cylinder devices to exchange air and liquid with the cylinder chamber thereof. Suitable valving allows air to enter and leave the pressure cell and cylinder device, if present, under electronic control.

A variable flux electric starter motor includes a frame, an armature rotatably mounted within the frame, and a primary field mounted to the frame. The primary field includes a plurality of primary windings electrically connected one to another. A relay is electrically coupled to at least one of the plurality of poles. A supplemental field is mounted to the frame. The supplemental field includes a supplemental winding electrically connected in parallel to the plurality of primary windings.
A motor, which has a braking function and is used in a linear actuator includes a main body, a rotation shaft, a braking means and a stopping means. The rotation shaft penetrates the center of the main body. The braking means includes a braking ring and a helical ring. The braking ring includes a plurality of curved plates. The helical ring surrounds outer edges of the curved plates. Each curved plate is put on the outer periphery of the rotation shaft. The stopping means is disposed between the main body and the braking means for restricting the rotation of any of the curved plates. By this arrangement, a better braking and decelerating function can be achieved.
The present disclosure relates to a track structure capable of supplying power, which comprises a track module, a first conducting module, a second conducting module, at least a sliding module, a first electrical transmission module, and a second electrical transmission module. Each track module is provided for disposing an electronic device. The electronic device slides along the track module via the sliding module. The first electrical transmission module is connected to the electronic device, and a first electrode and a second electrode of the sliding module. The first and second electrodes contact the first and second conducting modules, respectively. The second electrical transmission module is connected to the first and second conducing modules and connected to a power supply. The power supply supplies power and transmit the power to the electronic device through the track structure.
A laser diode includes a laser diode emitting light due to an electrical signal; a wavelength conversion plate for shifting the wavelength of the light emitted from the laser diode; a reflecting part for reflecting the light emitted from the laser diode towards the wavelength conversion plate; and a projecting part for emitting, in the forward direction, the light shifted by the wavelength conversion plate. The laser diode can provide a high-power but small-sized laser light source device, and a narrow emission angle can be achieved using the laser diode.
A system and method for releasably coupling a fluid dispenser to a structure. There is a push to connect-pull to disconnect connector system that has first and second mating connectors. A first connector is mounted to the dispenser and a second connector is mounted to the structure. The connector system accomplishes both mechanical and electrical interconnection between the dispenser and the structure.
A connecting terminal device includes a connecting terminal body having a plurality of pin connection holes. The connecting terminal body has an outer circumferential surface with at least one arcuate groove cut out of the outer circumferential surface. The arcuate groove extends along a circumferential direction centered on a first hole of the plurality of pin connection holes provided in the connecting terminal body. The plurality of pin connection holes other than the first hole are positioned within the arcuate groove. Preferably, the connecting terminal device is part of a compressor.
A refrigerator having an inner case that constitutes a storage compartment, an outer case that is coupled to an outer side of the inner case and constitutes an exterior, and a connector that connects a flexible flat cable and wires. The connector includes a first housing having an accommodation space in which the FFC is inserted, a plurality of second housings in which a wire insertion hole into which the wires are inserted, is formed and which are coupled to the first housing, and connection members provided in the first housing and the plurality of second housings so as to electrically connect the FFC and the wires. The connector is installed at the inner case in such a way that the first housing faces the outer case and the second housings face the storage compartment.
A battery cell assembly having a cooling fin with a tube, a substantially rectangular-shaped metal plate, first and second cylindrical coupling members, and first and second O-ring gaskets is provided. The tube has an inlet tube portion and an outlet tube portion. The tube is coupled to a peripheral region of the metal plate. The first cylindrical coupling member has a first aperture extending therethrough, and first and second circumferential grooves. The inlet tube portion is disposed in the first aperture and coupled to the first cylindrical coupling member. The first and second O-ring gaskets are disposed in the first and second circumferential grooves, respectively. The outlet tube portion is disposed in the second aperture and is coupled to the second cylindrical coupling member.
A system and method for supplying hydrogen gas, and a hydrogen fuel cell system are provided to solve inconvenience caused by the requirement for replacing a hydrogen storage container during hydrogen gas supplement. The system for supplying hydrogen gas includes a hydrogen storage unit, a hydrogen conveying unit and a charging device connected to the hydrogen storage unit, where the charging device includes a charging opening matched with a hydrogen gas infusing unit. It may be noted that according to the solution provided by the embodiments of the present disclosure, when hydrogen gas needs to be supplemented, an external infusing device may be used to infuse hydrogen gas to the hydrogen storage container in the hydrogen storage unit through the charging opening, which avoids replacement of the hydrogen storage container during an entire infusing process, and makes an intensive hydrogen gas supplement process more convenient and faster.
The disclosed technology provides micro-assembled micro-LED displays and lighting elements using arrays of micro-LEDs that are too small , numerous, or fragile to assemble by conventional means. The disclosed technology provides for micro-LED displays and lighting elements assembled using micro-transfer printing technology. The micro-LEDs can be prepared on a native substrate and printed to a display substrate , thereby obviating the manufacture of the micro-LEDs on the display substrate. In certain embodiments, the display substrate is transparent and/or flexible.
A solar collector is provided with a frame that is coupled to a based and configured to rotate about a vertical axis. A main panel assembly is attached to the frame and pivotal about a horizontal axis relative to the frame. The main panel assembly receives sunlight and converts the sunlight into electrical energy. The main panel assembly includes a central panel, and a pair of pivotal inner side panels, where each inner side panel is attached to the central panel. A pair of outer side panels attached to the inner side panels is also provided. Each outer side panel includes photo-voltaic panels, and a panel surround frame for retaining the PV panels. Each panel surround frame has a horizontal channel member, a pair of upright channel members, and a channel bracket, defining a perimeter. A peripheral edge of each PV panel is captured within the channel members.
A device for generating microwaves has a plurality of separately controlled microwave generators. Each of the generators includes a resonator, each with a capacitor structure formed with two electrodes that are separated by a spark gap. A high voltage supply charges the individual capacitor structures, which can be discharged by a breakdown of the spark gap. The individual capacitor structures are charged up by way of the high voltage supply device to a voltage that lies below the breakdown voltage of the individual spark gaps. A triggering device for triggering a breakdown of the respective spark gap is associated with each spark gap and the triggering devices are individually controlled by a common control device.
A torque regulator assembly is for a stored energy assembly of an electrical switching apparatus. The torque regulator assembly includes: a drive assembly including a gear and a transfer assembly disposed on the gear, the gear being structured to be cooperable with at least one charging mechanism of the stored energy assembly; and a shaft extending through the gear. The drive assembly is structured to move between a driving position and a non-driving position. In the driving position, the gear is cooperable with the transfer assembly to drive the shaft. In the non-driving position, the gear rotates independently with respect to the transfer assembly.

An apparatus and method is disclosed for identifying to responding police officers at a scene the individuals that are legally carrying a firearm. A wearable light source includes a light source on an exterior surface. The light source is activated when turned on by the wearer, or when permitted by the wearer to be turned on by a transmitter operated by a responding police officer that sends an activate signal that is received by the wearable light source, such as a bracelet, watch, or badge, either by a receiver incorporated into the wearable light source, or by a smart phone carried by the wearer that relays the activation command to the wearable light source.
An integrated line voltage converter and microprocessor-controlled tone generator allow advanced alarm features to be implemented in standard appliances as powered by a high-voltage line power. An integrated switch may also be used to allow the addition of alarm features to standard appliances as a drop-in replacement for door switches.
Provided is an operating number-counting piezoelectric dispenser including a piezoelectric pump dispensing a liquid by using a piezoelectric element as an actuator. According to the operating number-counting piezoelectric dispenser, damages to a piezoelectric actuator may be predicted and the piezoelectric actuator may be replaced before the damages are caused, thereby preventing process loss and defective products and improving productivity.
An in-ground geothermal heat pump closed loop design program is disclosed for designing, analyzing, and simulating a detailed model and analysis of a proposed buildings in-ground geothermal heat pump system, including borehole length, number of boreholes, heat pump capacity, grid layout, total electric operating costs, efficiency ratios, and hybrid designs, among others. In one aspect of the disclosure described herein, the GHP design program can reliably and efficiently predict the fluctuations of the GHP equipment performance in very small increments which enables the determination of energy consumption and demand information on a specific and unique hourly schedule basis for a proposed building design, including incorporating thermal load data for each individual zone of the building. More specifically, the small increment method here can be used to eliminate overly broad approximations by evaluating GHP performance that is specific to building dynamics, constants, and variables for all of the building individual zones and the building's hourly operating schedule, thereby providing an efficient, reliable, simple, and effective geothermal heat pump design and simulation model.
Implementations of a mounting wedge for a flexible material are described. According to various embodiments, a flexible material such as a fabric is laminated to a surface of a device, such as a portable computing device. At least some embodiments utilize a mounting wedge to secure an edge of the flexible material to the device, as well as for a mounting surface for a component of the device.
One embodiment relates to a method for temperature regulation of a medium to be circulated through a plurality of zones of a facility. In this method, a call for heat is received. The method identifies a zone within the plurality of zones from which the call for heat originated. The medium is then heated to a first temperature range if the identified zone is a first zone within the facility and is heated to a second temperature range if the identified zone is a second zone within the facility. The first and second temperature ranges differ from one another. Other methods and systems are also disclosed.
A method of hydraulic fracturing of an oil producing formation includes the provision of a heating apparatus which is transportable and that has a vessel for containing water. A water stream of cool or cold water is transmitted from a source to a mixer, the cool or cold water stream being at ambient temperature. The mixer has an inlet that receives cool or cold water from the source and an outlet that enables a discharge of a mix of cool or cold water and the hot water. After mixing in the mixer, the water assumes a temperature that is suitable for mixing with chemicals that are used in the fracturing process, such as a temperature of about 40°-120° F.+. An outlet discharges a mix of the cool and hot water to surge tanks or to mixing tanks In the mixing tanks, a proppant and an optional selected chemical or chemicals are added to the water which has been warmed. From the mixing tanks, the water with proppant and optional chemicals is injected into the well for part of the hydraulic fracturing operation.
An air conditioning management device is mutually communicably connected to multiple air conditioners, and is equipped with: a storage that stores connection information that indicate remote control devices respectively controlling the plurality of air conditioners, the air conditioners connected thereto; a wasteful operation determiner that determines whether or not any of the plurality of air conditioners are in a wasteful operating state; and a wasteful operation notifier which, in the case where wasteful operation determiner determines that at least one of the plurality of air conditioners is in a wasteful operating state, notifies that the air conditioner is in a wasteful operating state to the remote control device connected to that air conditioner, on the basis of the connection information stored in the storage.
A method supplies a gas, stored in multiple vessels, to a drive assembly of a motor vehicle. Each vessel is assigned a valve for opening and closing the vessel and a gas sensor, in the form of a temperature sensor, for determining a temperature as a state variable of the gas in the vessel. The vessels are connected to the drive assembly via a common line. Along the common line, there is arranged at least one gas sensor, which is common to all of the vessels, for determining at least one state variable of the gas. For the supply to the drive assembly, in each case only one of the valves is opened and all of the other valves are closed. The open valve is closed when at least one determined state variable deviates from a setpoint value by a tolerance value.
According to an embodiment of the disclosure, a system for regulating a pressure differential includes a plurality of valving elements and a valve activation system. Each of the plurality of valving elements are configured to selectively allow and restrict at least a portion of a flow of fluid between an inlet and an outlet of a conduit through a respective opening and closing of each respective valving element. The valve activation system is configured to supply a common driving pressure to the plurality of valving elements. The common driving pressure is configured to initiate at least one of the opening or closing of the plurality of valving elements or to initiate the other of the opening or closing of the plurality of valving elements.
An apparatus for switching between driving modes of a vehicle with an automatic driving system, including: an input unit for receiving an input to switch from automatic driving mode to manual driving mode; a speed sensor for determining a current speed of the vehicle; a display unit on which a first indicator indicating a current speed of the vehicle when the vehicle is in an automatic driving mode is displayed; a pedal sensor for determining a current displacement distance of an accelerator pedal; a controller for determining a virtual speed according to the current distance displacement of the accelerator pedal when an input is received that requests switching of the automatic driving mode of the vehicle to a manual driving mode if the vehicle is in the automatic driving mode and displays a second indicator indicating the virtual speed on the display unit, and for switchings the automatic driving mode to the manual driving mode when the virtual driving speed is similar to the current speed of the vehicle.
Multiple lattice points arranged in a three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system that takes first, second and third operating conditions as axes are associated with cores arranged in a lattice shape. A program for calculating a control value at the associated lattice points is allocated to the cores. Each core with which a lattice point is associated is configured so that, in a case where an operation space on the three-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system to which a current operating point belongs is a space defined by eight adjacent lattice points including a lattice point associated with the relevant core, the relevant core calculates a control value at the lattice point associated therewith by means of the calculation program and sends the control value to an interpolation calculation core. Further, if the operation space is not defined by the eight adjacent lattice points, the relevant core suspends calculation of the control value.
A projector includes a light source device , a light modulating device configured to modulate a light beam emitted from the light source device, a projection optical device configured to project the light beam modulated by the light modulating device, and a flexible printed circuit board , one end of which is connected to the light modulating device . The light source device includes a light emitting device mounted on the flexible printed circuit board . The flexible printed circuit board is bent, whereby the light source device is disposed in an emission position where the light source device emits the light beam to the light modulating device .
This invention comprises a self-centering mechanism for retaining an object, a clamping device for retaining an electronic device or an electronic device in a case, and means to integrate the devices in an adapter form. The structure of the self-centering mechanism allows for a compact device that is capable of fitting a wide range of differently sized and shaped objects. The clamping device allows for means to retain an electronic device or an electronic device in a case that is capable of fitting a wide range of differently sized and shaped electronic device. The self-centering mechanism and clamping device can also be integrated into the form of an adapter for various applications.
An apparatus for generating light may be comprised of a light source with a lens interposed in a light path from the light source. The lens may be comprised of two or more sections wherein at least one section may be comprised of smart glass. Electrical circuitry may be configured to control a transparency state of the smart glass lens sections. Another embodiment may have two reflectors wherein one of the reflectors may be interposed between the light source and the other reflector and may be comprised of smart glass with a transparent state and a reflective state so that two different reflection patterns may be created. A method for illumination wherein at least one area's illumination is controlled by a section of smart glass is also disclosed.
