An integrated line voltage converter and microprocessor-controlled tone generator allow advanced alarm features to be implemented in standard appliances as powered by a high-voltage line power. An integrated switch may also be used to allow the addition of alarm features to standard appliances as a drop-in replacement for door switches.
A process of determining the depth of a pocket in a woven fabric. A representation is formed of a portion of a surface of the woven fabric to provide a fabric representation showing at least one of at least one of locations and sizes of knuckles that are a part of the surface of the fabric and at least one of locations and sizes of pockets that are formed in areas between the knuckles. Particular knuckles are identified that surround a particular pocket. A path is determined in the fabric representation that passes from a first of the knuckles across the particular pocket to a second of the knuckles. The fabric is scanned using a measurement device along a line that corresponds to the determined path. A depth of the particular pocket is determined, to which cellulosic fibers can penetrate in a papermaking process, based on the scan.
A washer-dryer is provided with a time shift function for performing timer presetting processing on the basis of a time shift computation result which indicates an operation start time suitable for operation. The washer-dryer includes: an input operation unit for allowing a user to perform operations for operating the washer-dryer; a display unit for displaying information relating to the operation of the washer-dryer; and an operation control unit for controlling the operation of the washer-dryer on the basis of the time shift computation result. When a start button on the input operation unit is operated by the user, the operation control unit automatically performs the timer presetting processing on the basis of the time shift computation result and also displays a timer preset time at the display unit.
Disclosed are fibers comprising one or more branded fibers which exhibit surface markings in a repeated pattern along the length of the branded fibers. The branded fibers can be incorporated into yarns or fiber bands to represent supply chain information of the yarns, fiber bands, and/or articles made from the yards or fiber bands. In a specific example, branded fibers can be incorporated into an acetate tow band. The branded fibers can be recovered from a cigarette filter, the repeated pattern decoded, and supply chain information associated with the acetate tow used to make the cigarette filter, such as manufacturer, customer, ship to location, and even the acetate tow bale, can be obtained.

An oxidation furnace for the oxidative treatment of fibers, especially for producing carbon fibers, which comprises a process chamber arranged inside a housing, a blowing device for hot air, at least one suction device arranged in an end region of the process chamber, at least one ventilator that circulates the hot air through the blowing device, the process chamber and the suction device, and at least one heating device arranged in the flow path of the hot circulated air. The suction device is formed from a plurality of vertically interspaced suction boxes. Said boxes have at least one outlet for the hot air, and at least one inlet for hot air, communicating with the process chamber and arranged in the outward-facing side of the suction boxes, that is the side that is at a distance from the center of the process chamber.

An exhaust which comprises a mounting plate mountable onto the external wall of the building and having an opening therein. The exhaust vent also comprises a main body attachable to the mounting plate and having a rear face, a front face, and an aperture extending from the rear face to the front face in fluid communication with the opening of the mounting plate and the conduit. The exhaust vent also comprises a flap pivotally attached to the main body and movable between a closed position, where the aperture is blocked by the flap, and an opened position where the flap extends away from the aperture. Finally the exhaust vent comprises a first seal which surrounds the aperture when the flap is in the closed position, the seal being located on either one of the flap or the main body. This invention aims at improving air-tightness of the exhaust vent when in the flap is in the closed position.

This invention pertains to a layered sheet comprising a flame resistant wet-laid nonwoven paper having a first and second surface and an inorganic refractory layer adjacent to at least one surface of the paper wherein the refractory layer has a dry areal weight of from 15 to 50 gsm and the bond strength between the refractory layer and the surface of the paper is from 0.25 lb/in to 0.8 lb/in, wherein the carrier comprises from 40 to 70 weight percent of aramid fibers and from 30 to 60 weight percent of polymeric binder, is hydrophilic, has a smoothness on at least one surface of no greater than 150 Sheffield units, a thickness of from 0.025 to 0.175 mm and a density of from 0.60 to 1.1 g/cc.
The present invention is directed to a method of making a cord-reinforced rubber article, comprising the steps of
- atomizing a mixture of a halogenated hydrocarbon, a carrier gas, and at least one member of the group consisting of hydrocarbon sulfides and polymerizable monomers, to form an atomized mixture;
- generating an atmospheric pressure plasma from the atomized mixture;
- exposing a reinforcement cord to the atmospheric pressure plasma to produce a treated reinforcement cord; and
- contacting the treated reinforcement cord with a rubber composition comprising a diene based elastomer and at least one member of the group consisting of methylene donors and methylene acceptors.
The invention relates to textile fibers at least partially covered with a nanometric-sized semiconducting material having photocatalytic properties for degrading chemical compounds, in particular chemical or biological agents, wherein said semiconducting material is in the form of nanostructure or nanocomposites with a one-dimensional morphology. The textile fibers can be used for application in the military, medical, and civilian domains, etc. The curves 60 and 62 respectively show the photocatalytic degradation of organic compounds at the surface of textile fibers covered with nanostructures or nanocomposites having a one-dimensional morphology according to the invention, and nanoparticles having a granular morphology according to the prior art. The nanostructures are nanocomposites of the invention 60 are more efficient.

The waste heat recovery device includes an evaporation unit configured to absorb heat from air that is exhausted from the drum, a condenser unit configured to transfer heat absorbed from the evaporation unit to ambient air that flows into the ambient air duct, and a heat transfer medium configured to transfer heat between the evaporation unit and the condenser unit. The ambient air duct is configured to communicate air from the ambient air duct into the intake duct at a point along a flow path between the drum and the heater.
A bubble generating device and a washing machine equipped with the bubble generating device. The washing machine includes a water tub into which water is introduced, a bubble generating device to generate bubbles and supply the bubbles into the water tub, a pump to suck water from the water tub and supply the water into the bubble generating device, and a connecting pipe having an end connected to the bubble generating device and the other end connected to the water tub. The other end of the connecting pipe is located above a water level in the water tub. The bridge data generating portion generates bridge data to form bridge stitches between the embroidery pattern and the peripheral edge portion of the hole, based on the generated line segments.
The present invention provides a processing method of non-woven intrinsically with enhanced deodorant feature from bamboo. The process uses mixture of wasted coffee residue and bamboo pulp as raw material. The process uses N-methylmorpholine N-oxide as primary solvent and 1, 3-phenylene-bis 2-oxazoline as additive stabilizer. A cellulose solution is firstly formed by the wasted coffee residue, bamboo pulp, NMMO and BOX aforesaid. Secondly, via grinding, blending, dissolving and thermal dehydrating, the cellulose solution is converted into spinning dope. Thirdly, via meltblown method, the dope is extruded out of spinnerets in a die assembly by a metering gear pump to form thread bundle. Finally, the thread bundle is orderly treated by coagulation with regeneration via ejecting mist aerosol of water, rinsing, bleaching, re-rinsing, drying, winding-up and the like to create continuous filaments, then final product for nonwoven with deodorant feature is produced by the filaments from bamboo cellulose.
A yarn clipping and cutting structure for a striping apparatus of a circular knitting machine, including two yarn clipping and cutting drive blades that abut each other and can be driven synchronously. A first yarn clipping and cutting drive blade is bordered by a yarn feeding blade. The first yarn clipping and cutting drive blade and the yarn feeding blade are interposed by a yarn clipping blade. The first yarn clipping and cutting drive blade has a first end edge formed a first yarn picking portion which has a directing section. A second yarn clipping and cutting drive blade has another side opposing the yarn clipping blade with a yarn cutting blade. The second yarn clipping and cutting drive blade has a second end edge formed a second yarn picking portion. The second yarn picking portion has a spaced section to form an elevation difference against the directing section.
A combination feeder may be utilized to inlay a strand within a knitted component. As an example, the combination feeder may include a feeder arm that reciprocates between a retracted position and an extended position. In manufacturing the knitted component, the feeder inlays the strand when the feeder arm is in the extended position, and the strand is absent from the knitted component when the feeder arm is in the retracted position. A dispensing tip disposed at the end of the feeder arm supplies the strand for inlaying in a location disposed below the intersection of the planes of the needle beds and for one or more of knitting, tucking, and floating in a location disposed above the intersection of the planes of the needle beds.

The invention provides polyurethaneurea compositions comprising poly glycol having high number average molecular weight, from about 1900 to about 4000 Dalton. The invention further relates to the use of high number average molecular weight poly glycol as the soft segment base material in spandex compositions. The invention also relates to new polyurethane compositions comprising poly glycols with such high number average molecular weight, from about 1900 to about 4000 Dalton, and their use in spandex.
Described herein are apparatuses and methods of creating fibers, such as microfibers and nanofibers. The methods discussed herein employ centrifugal forces to transform material into fibers. Apparatuses that may be used to create fibers are also described. Described herein are fiber producing devices that have various types of outlet elements coupled to the fiber producing device.
Disclosed is a process for preparing fluorinated core-shell polymer particles in which the core is a non-fluorinated polymer and the shell is derived from at least 50% by weight of fluorinated monomers, by 1) synthesizing a core polymer latex by aqueous emulsion polymerization of non-fluorinated monomers forming the core polymer, 2) adding the shell-forming fluorinated monomers or mixtures of at least 50% by weight of fluorinated monomers with non-fluorinated monomers to the core polymer latex of step 1) and allowing for at least one hour of equilibration time in which essentially no polymerization of the shell monomers occurs, 3) reacting the shell-forming monomers in the mixture from step 2) to form the core-shell polymer particles, wherein the process steps 1) to 3) are carried out under mechanical stirring in the absence of surfactants, emulsifiers, emulsifying monomers and mixtures thereof.
VDF-co- polymers having a molecular weight of at least about 1,000,000 g/mol and a melt temperature less than about 240° C. The VDF copolymer contains at least about 50 mol % VDF monomer and may include an amount of at least one other monomer. The VDF copolymer may be used to form a membrane that has a node and fibril structure. The membrane has a percent porosity of at least 25%. A VDF-co- polymer membrane may be formed by lubricating the VDF copolymer, subjecting the lubricated polymer to pressure at a temperature below the melting point of the VDF copolymer to form a preform material, and expanding the preform material at a temperature below the melting temperature of the VDF copolymer. Dense VDF copolymer articles, filled VDF copolymer membranes, and VDF copolymer fibers are also provided.
The present invention relates to a drawn PET fiber that can provide a cap ply cord and the like showing more improved modulus and good dimensional stability, a PET tire cord, and a tire including the same. The drawn PET fiber may be a fiber including 90 mol % or more of PET, of which the crystallinity is 53% or more, the amorphous orientation factor is 0.15 or less, and the birefringence index is 0.14 to 0.16, after heat-treating the same at 230° C. for 1 minute under the initial load of 20 g/1000 d.
The present invention relates to a fast curing two component epoxy resin which has excellent adhesion properties to glazed surfaces and a short tack free time at ambient and low temperature conditions. The invention also relates a process for the rehabilitation of glazed surfaces, especially glazed ceramic surfaces or glazed cement surfaces. Furthermore the present invention describes a cartridge for the transportation and risk-free mixing of the described epoxy resin on site.
A method for manufacturing cellulosic material includes: introducing cellulose fibers as cellulosic raw material to a system, conveying the cellulose fibers to an extruder comprising a mixing part and/or a refining part, dosing at least one chemical to the system before the extruder and/or in the extruder and performing a reaction between the cellulose fibers and the chemical at least partly in the extruder, wherein the reaction is performed at a consistency of at least 40%, and/or dosing at least one chemical to the system before the extruder and/or in the extruder and mixing the cellulose fibers and the chemical in the mixing part of the extruder, wherein the mixing step is performed at a consistency of at least 40%, and/or refining the introduced cellulose fibers at least partly in the refining part of the extruder, wherein the refining step is performed at a consistency of at least 5%.
The invention relates to an illuminating web, characterized in that it is flame-retarded by a flame-retardant composition impregnated into the bulk of the illuminating web and/or included in a coating on at least one face of the illuminating web. The illuminating web exhibits an improved performance in terms of reaction toward fire. It is better suited to the standards in force as regards reaction to fire. It also exhibits an advantageous illuminating performance and has good acoustic properties, when it incorporates a support appropriate for sound insulation. The invention also relates to an illuminating structure composed of said web added to a rigid or semirigid support. This structure can be used in particular as partition wall or ceiling in a building. With regard to the web proper, it can be used as painter's canvas or stretched fabric or part of these.
The invention is directed to materials comprising polylactic acid . In accordance with the invention, PLA material is stretched in at least the machine direction at a total stretch ratio of 1:4 or more. These materials have excellent biodegradability and find use in horticulture, in particular for tying up plants or parts thereof.

Such contact disturbs the vertical fall of the filaments 20a and 20b and causes the filaments 20a and 20b to be tangled in loops with the adjacent filaments 20a and 20b and pass through the first chutes 4a and 4b and the second chute 6, while being cooled down with water supplied from openings 51a, 51b and 51c.

The present invention concerns polymeric-enveloped microparticles including at least one HASE type acrylic copolymer, at least one solid-liquid phase change material with a phase transition temperature ranging from 20 to 90° C., and at least one active agent. In particular, the microparticles include at least one HASE type acrylic copolymer including at least one anionic monomer with a polymerizable vinyl group and a carboxyl group, at least one non-ionic hydrophobic monomer with a polymerizable vinyl group, and at least one alkoxylated associative macromonomer with a polymerizable vinyl group and a hydrophobic hydrocarbon chain.
The present disclosure is directed to disposable absorbent articles comprising a structured fibrous web, the structured fibrous web comprising thermally stable, hydrophilic fibers that are thermally bonded together using heat producing a base substrate that is thermally stable. The base substrate is textured via mechanical treatment to increase its thickness and optionally modified via over bonding to improve its mechanical and fluid handling properties. The structured fibrous web provides optimal fluid wicking and fluid acquisition capabilities and is directed toward fluid management applications.
An improved skin substitute is presented comprised of a silicone layer backed up with a woven nylon fabric layer, the silicone layer possessing a regular pattern of slits that permit the porosity of the skin substitute to be adjusted by clinicians by means of applying tension to the skin substitute that differentially opens the slits. A variety of therapeutic substances can be applied to the skin substitute to promote healing, including aloe and other medicinal preparations. A layer of water soluble or water insoluble anti-scar compound is also present, the preferred compound being salinomycin.
A joint support device is provided. The joint support device may include a first tubular layer and a second tubular layer both made of crisscrossing fibers. The crisscrossing fibers of the first tubular layer may be oriented in a spiral in a first direction and the crisscrossing fibers of the second tubular layer may be oriented in a spiral in an opposite direction of the first direction. A dispersible, nonwoven multistrata wipe material that is stable in a wetting liquid and flushable in use is provided. More particularly, the materials are layered structures including, but not limited to, one, two, three, or four layers to form the dispersible nonwoven wipe material. The layers contain cellulosic fibers and a binder or additive.

A tubular inner side knitted fabric portion to become an inner side portion of the shoe upper and a tubular outer side knitted fabric portion to become an outer side portion of the shoe upper are knitted with the inner side knitted fabric portion and the outer side knitted fabric portion lined on left and right on the needle beds and with foot insertion opening corresponding portions of the knitted fabric portions connected . In this case, at least one of the inner side knitted fabric portion and the outer side knitted fabric portion is knitted using a fusible knitting yarn including a heat fusible yarn. The inner side knitted fabric portion is tucked in an interior of the outer side knitted fabric portion to form a shoe upper having a double structure . The shoe upper having the double structure is fitted to a last and a thermal process is carried out .
A line for use in angling sports, such as fly fishing, comprises a braid formed of polytetrafluorethylene strands and polyethylene strands. The PTFE strands and the PE strands are arranged such that in a rest position, an outer surface of the braid is defined by both the PTFE strands and the PE strands and when the braid is placed under tension, the outer surface of the braid is defined at least substantially by the PTFE strands due to bulging of the PTFE strands relative to the PE strands.
